I think it is a waste of money when the road is already safe due to all the bends and parked vehicles, its virtually impossible to drive at even 30mph. Also, the streets signs will make the village look ugly.

To introduce a 20mph speed limit it is a requirement that mean speeds are already low, to reduce the likelihood of requests to the police for enforcement action. National research and practice has shown that where the mean speed is at or below 24mph introducing signing alone is likely to lead to general compliance with the new speed limit.

I think this road will not benefit from this restriction, on the second day back school in the main the speeding vehicle are school traffic and how will it be enforced and with the increased local traffic, parking on footpaths and A1 traffic it’s difficult to speed faster than 30.

The Department for Transport’s “Setting Local Speed Limits” guidance highlights the importance of traffic authorities’ to keep their speed limits under review with changing circumstances; and consider the introduction of more 20mph speed limits and zones in built-up urban areas and village streets.

The recorded main average speed is 19.5mph this will reduce the likelihood of requests to the police for enforcement action.
